The media and Democrats have attacked President Trump without mercy for his honest and even-handed statements about who caused the violence in Charlottesville last weekend, and the Republican establishment has enthusiastically joined in the criticism. With the Russian “collusion” issue running out of steam, it is clear they are turning to this as the issue they hope to use to drive him from office.

It has also become clear that the police in Charlottesville were strangely passive, as if their superiors wanted violence to occur and to provide an opportunity for anti-Trump propaganda.
