 TO: Speaker of the House Paul Ryan

SUBJECT: Your surrender to Barack Obama

WHEREAS: Immediately after becoming Speaker of the House late last year, you were largely responsible for passage of a trillion-dollar federal budget that fully funded every single one of Barack Obama's spending priorities, and

WHEREAS: You have already signaled your intention to stick to the budget-busting spending deal negotiated by John Boehner in concert with liberal Democrats before he resigned from Congress last year, and

WHEREAS: Last week you told conservative leaders to give up their principles because opposing Obama is not worth the effort, and

WHEREAS: Your advice to conservatives to turn away from gun owners rights and other "hot button issues" as well as "identity politics" ignores the victory of Ted Cruz in the Iowa caucus, who campaigned on the issues you condemn, and

WHEREAS: You have not only betrayed traditional conservative Republican values but also the conservative GOP congressmen who gave you the benefit of the doubt that you would deliver on the "clean slate" you promised them last year.

THEREFORE: The undersigned U.S. citizen petitions you to end secret deals with liberal Democrats, carry out legislative negotiations with full transparency and put first the conservative values held by an overwhelming number of House Republican members and grassroots Republican Americans.
