Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his PAC allies have announced their intention to protect pro-McConnell establishment senators and to defeat pro-Trump conservatives in the 2018 Senate primaries. However, McConnell already lost one supporter when Alabama's Luther Strange was beaten by Judge Roy Moore. Two other McConnell supporters, Arizona's Jeff Flake and Tennessee's Robert Corker, decided to retire when polls showed that they might lose their primaries.
Will Trump's momentum lead to victory in 2018? Or will media propaganda and the tens of millions of dollars the establishment is ready to spend against him produce success for McConnell's backers?
