Conservatives expect Republicans in Congress to forcefully defend President Trump against liberal and Deep State efforts to drive him from office according to a poll by FedUP PAC.

The need for Congressional Republicans “to be much more outspoken in their defense of Trump” was affirmed by 99% of the respondents.

There is a great need for Republicans to be sure that Trump’s side is heard. At least two Democrats in the House of Representatives, Brad Sherman and Al Green, are preparing impeachment resolutions against the President. Last week’s testimony by former FBI Director James Comey has been spun by the media as laying the groundwork for obstruction of justice charges despite rebuttal by well-respected legal experts such as Alan Dershowitz. Deep State operatives within the Federal bureaucracy continue to leak information, at least some of it completely false, in an attempt to erode public support for the President.

Public outcry against Republican silence may already be having an influence. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) used his question time in Tuesday’s hearing with Attorney General Jeff Sessions to provide a strong defense of both Sessions and Trump.
