Attacks by Marco Rubio and others on Donald Trump have not had any significant effect on conservative support for Trump according to a poll by FedUp PAC.
Only 38% believe that Trump’s hiring of illegal aliens shows hypocrisy, while 27% disagree and 29% do not believe Rubio’s claim. Only 29% say they are less likely to vote for Trump.
Rubio’s description of Trump as a con man is believed by 32%, while 58% reject the charge.
Other criticisms of Trump have also failed to make an impact. Only 36% say that Trump’s failure to release his tax returns is damaging to his trustworthiness. A video clip showing Trump expressing support for the invasion of Iraq causes only 38% to doubt his honesty, though conservatives are evenly divided, 47% on each side, over a similar video contradicting his claim to have never supported the war with Libya.
If Trump is the Republican nominee, 71% of conservatives will vote for him. However, only 55% believe he has the high moral character needed by a President.
FedUp PAC is a grass roots organization that wants constitutional conservatives to take over the GOP because Americans are fed up with the Republican establishment. It is not affiliated with any candidate or committee.
