Conservatives reacted to the Republican victory in Georgia’s special election by calling on the Republican leadership in Congress to move quickly on the Trump agenda according to a poll by FedUp PAC.
Seeing the Georgia win as a referendum on Trump’s policies, more than 99% said that “[Speaker] Ryan and [Majority Leader] McConnell should cease their delays and quickly push Trump’s agenda to a vote in Congress.” Only one-half of one percent disagreed.
Conservatives also had a warning, saying that Republican success in the 2018 elections would depend on whether Republicans keep their campaign promises. Repealing ObamaCare, reforming and reducing taxes, strengthening the southern border, and deporting illegal aliens are still awaiting congressional action.
The Senate is expected to vote this week on a bill to amend, rather than repeal ObamaCare. Republican “moderates” are trying to preserve still more of ObamaCare, while Senate conservatives hope to revise the bill so as to come closer to the Republican promise to repeal it.
Next on the agenda would be tax reform, but it is not clear that Republicans are ready to unite and pass that either.
FedUp PAC is a grass roots organization that wants constitutional conservatives to take over the GOP because Americans are fed up with the Republican establishment. It is not affiliated with any candidate or committee.
