Conservatives support President Trump’s attack on protesting NFL players according to a poll by FedUp PAC.
More than 97% say that “Trump is providing good leadership on this issue”, while fewer than 3% believe that Trump should cease his criticism.
Trump has labeled the players as unpatriotic and called for NFL owners to fire players who refuse to stand and show respect during the playing of the national anthem. According to columnist Marc Thiessen, the NFL is failing to enforce its own requirement that “all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem” and must “stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking” or face discipline “such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s).”
Other polling shows more Americans opposing than supporting the protests, while a CNN poll found that 24% will boycott “the NFL’s games, broadcasts, or products.” Ticket sales were reported to be down by 18%. NFL players appear to understand the negative reaction, with the number of players protesting the flag and national anthem sharply declining since last week. The Washington Post reported that when the Oakland Raiders’ Marshawn Lynch refused to stand, he was “surrounded in an apparent attempt to hide him from view.”
FedUp PAC has encouraged patriotic Americans to boycott NFL sponsors, beginning with Papa Johns, until the owners take action against the anti-American protestors.
FedUp PAC is a grass roots organization that wants constitutional conservatives to take over the GOP because Americans are fed up with the Republican establishment. It is not affiliated with any candidate or committee.
