Conservatives believe Republican Senators will stand united behind President Trump’s cabinet nominees and guarantee confirmation, according to a poll by FedUp PAC.

Successful confirmation of every Trump nominee was the expectation of 85%, while 11% thought at least one of Trump’s choices would be abandoned by establishment Republicans and defeated.

Senate Democrats have slowed the nomination process to a crawl with delaying tactics that include demanding additional hearings and postponing scheduled votes. They are using the extra time to smear many of Trump’s cabinet picks, hoping that the media can use the smears to make establishment Republicans uncomfortable about voting for the nominees. Democrats have been especially confident about their chances of winning Republican votes against Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, designated to become Director of the Environmental Protection Agency. Sen. Jeff Sessions (Attorney General), Rep. Tom Price (Health and Human Services), and Betsy DeVos (Education) have also been prime targets because their strongly conservative views are anathema to the GOP establishment.
