Conservatives expect Democratic senators to pay a heavy political price if they filibuster the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court according to a poll by FedUp PAC. More than 93% predict that many of the ten Democrats seeking 2018 re-election in states carried by Donald Trump will be defeated if they vote to block the Gorsuch nomination.

Republicans will need eight Democratic senators to end a filibuster and obtain a vote on approving Gorsuch. Most of the ten Democrats running in Trump states are expected to face the potential for a very competitive race, and even some Democrats in states that voted for Clinton could find themselves in trouble.

If Democrats suffer 2018 losses on the scale of 2010 and 2014, they could be in danger of handing Republicans a filibuster-proof Senate.
