Conservatives agree with President Trump that the illegal leaks used against Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn are the true scandal, and that the leakers should be found and prosecuted, according to a poll by FedUp PAC.

The President’s position was supported by 98%, with only 2% supporting the right of the leakers to release classified information.

Lt. Gen. Flynn does not appear to have violated any law, and the leaks were clearly aimed not at upholding law but at undermining the Trump administration. Failing to find and punish the leakers will only encourage other anti-Trump bureaucrats to use the selective release of information to continue this effort to destroy the President.

According the Federal law, a person can be sent to prison for as much as ten years if he “knowingly and willfully communicates, furnishes, transmits, or otherwise make available to an unauthorized person, or publishes, or uses in any manner prejudicial to the safety or interest of the United States any classified information . . . .”
