Conservatives want President Trump to stand with those members of Congress calling for true repeal of ObamaCare and opposing the ObamaCare Lite pushed by Speaker Ryan and establishment Republicans according to a poll by FedUp PAC.
More than 98% of conservatives say that Trump should work for repeal, while less than 1% believe he should work for passage of the Ryan bill.
Ever since the enactment of ObamaCare in 2010, without a single Republican vote in Congress, Republicans have been promising repeal. Congress passed full repeal in 2015, but the bill was vetoed by the President. Now establishment Republicans are distancing themselves from what they supported in 2015, and some have expressed concern that even the Ryan bill is not liberal enough to get their vote.
Conservatives have been sharply critical of Ryan’s bill, pointing out that it is revision rather than repeal. It would continue the expansion of Medicaid while establishing an expensive new welfare program of tax credits.
Without conservative support, Ryan’s bill cannot pass either house of Congress.
FedUp PAC is a grass roots organization that wants constitutional conservatives to take over the GOP because Americans are fed up with the Republican establishment. It is not affiliated with any candidate or committee.
