Conservatives say that Donald Trump’s press conference defending his fundraising for veterans was a plus for his campaign, according to a poll by FedUp PAC. Trump effectively answered the media questions and, 81% say, came out as a stronger candidate for November.
The national media, led by The Washington Post, had been writing about the failure to raise the full $6 million and the lack of any donation by Trump himself. With Trump making a $1 million donation, and bringing the still rising total to $5.6 million, the matter was fully resolved in the minds of many observers.
However, 13% believe the media was successful in damaging Trump’s chances of winning, while 6% are undecided.
