It's Time To Drain The Swamp In The GOP

Some would like to attribute the collapse of the Senate’s Obamacare efforts to the perfidy of three Senators: Senators John McCain of Arizona, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, two of whom (McCain and Murkowski) campaigned on Obamacare repeal and had voted for the GOP’s last-ditch bill in the past.

However, blaming McCain, Murkowski and Collins would be much too shallow an analysis because, at critical junctures in the Obamacare repeal effort as many as ten Republican Senators broke ranks to vote with the Democrats and vote down legislation that, broadly speaking, Republicans had been campaigning on for years.

In our view, the problem isn’t that a few Republican members of the Senate have lost their way or been bought by special interests, it is that the Republican Party at the national level has become part of the swamp that President Trump and his millions of supporters want to drain.
